I just saw Jack Ketchum’s The Girl Next Door which is based on the true murder of Sylvia Likens by Gertrude Baniszewski in 1965. Such a horrible movie! Not because of acting or the screenplay or special effects, but because of the acts committed in the film that closely resembled those committed by Baniszewski, her daughters, and their boyfriends. Seriously, I love horror flicks, but this one just made me cringe and not in a “eep! monster” way, but a “omg, that poor girl” way.
I liked the movie, but I would really only reccomend it to someone with a strong stomach and maybe someone who likes/is used to true crime movies of this caliber.
